The Show MUST Go On: Fall Dinner Show 2022

So this was my senior year of high school, and we did two dinner shows, where the culinary class made a ton of dinners, and the school choir would perform. Well the WVSB Rock Band’s job was to provide background music while people were eating.

A year before this we had the instructor on lead guitar, a rhythm guitarist, bass player, two keyboards and a drummer. Several of us were able to switch around as needed (the rhythm guitarist could do auxiliary percussion, the bass player could do guitar, Haza could do anything, and I could switch from keyboard over to drums.)

My senior year we fell down to just two keyboardists and the instructor. At times we were able to get one of the younge kids on the keyboard so I could do drums, but we never had any bass parts.

Well for this dinner show, because our other keyboardist had gotten in a non-fatal car accident earlier that day, we had to power through as a duo, Haza on guitar, me on keyboard, and the keyboard also providing the percussion. All things considered we didn’t do too bad. We did have to change our setlist since some of our songs had the other keyboardist on leads, Haza on guitar and me on drums, so we instead had to recycle songs from earlier shows, but we made it work.
