I used to own a beat to hell HumanWare BrailleNote MPower, and this unit had a software MIDI synth that was removed in the Apex, not sure if the Classic or PK had the software MIDI synth. The synth file is "wince_gm.dls" and according to Jake Gross, some samples in this DLS are stored in a different audio format from the rest, so some instruments are more delayed. Its possible to swap out the file and it improves things a lot more. This is a recording I made several years ago of my old MPower playing onestop.mid, which is included in every modern version of Windows in C:\Windows\Media
I wish I still had this MPowr, but it was quite the scuffed unit and barely worked.
